I first bit into this soft and delicious cake at my sweet godmother’s house and ever since she shared where she got the recipe from, it has become a Thanksgiving and winter holiday must and a year-round treat.

TIPS and SUGGESTIONS:
- Melt the butter and sugar for the topping directly in the cake pan after you butter your pan.
- I have never served this cake with whipped cream, and truthfully, it’s perfect without it. I suggest serving the cake without it.
- Follow the recipe exactly. The sweetness is perfect, not being too sweet, nor bland.
- Use a baking pan underneath the 9 inch cake pan to catch any of the spills the cranberry may make.
